About The Artist
Donovan Hall, known as DJ “Don Gordo,” is a Bay Area–based DJ and founder of Motown On Mondays—a globally recognized party that has expanded to 50+ cities since its launch in 2009. What started as a weekly event has grown into a cultural movement, known for bringing people together through timeless music and shared energy.
A full-time DJ with thousands of events behind him, Donovan’s range spans house, EDM, hip-hop, rock, funk, soul, and everything in between. His approach is rooted in timing, selection, and instinct. Knowing what to play is one thing—but when to play it, how to bring it in, and how long to let it ride is where he stands apart. His sets are fluid, intentional, and built to keep the energy moving.
Donovan has performed at major festivals including BottleRock Napa Valley, Outside Lands, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, and Treasure Island Music Festival, and has shared stages with artists like The Weeknd, Erykah Badu, Questlove, Fatboy Slim, and DJ Jazzy Jeff.
His work extends beyond the stage into high-profile private events, with clients including Google, Apple, Pixar, Facebook, Stripe, and Lucasfilm. He’s also been featured on Bay Area radio staples like Wild 94.9, Alice 97.3, and KPFA.
With a background in live music and years of experience performing with bands, Donovan often incorporates live elements into his sets—bringing in horns, guitar, and percussion to elevate the experience even further. Whether performing solo or producing large-scale events through his network, he’s known for delivering music that feels personal, elevated, and deeply connected to the crowd.
